North Coyote Buttes (The Wave)

                You've seen it on the home screen of Android phones, HP computers, and hanging on the wall in doctors' offices. A rolling, smooth swath of sandstone striped a variety of colors, dotted by occasional post-rain puddles. Walls that rise up around you, then fall below you. The Wave- a destination that thousands seek to reach each year, but so very few actually do. It's situated in the North Coyote Buttes area of the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument: and to keep this incredible location preserved for future generations, the B.L.M. has restricted access to it to just 64 permits per day in a lottery system.
